Arent we supposed to be getting an education?

I was sitting in my government class the other day with time to kill and heard some of the most ignorant things said by my classmates.
Ex 1 : a 40ish classmate -the oldest in the class- comments on illegal immigration: she doesn't think the government should stop illegal immigrants coming from mexico because "who else is stupid enough to climb on my roof and fix hail damage? Certainly not my husband, let the dumb mexican do it."
My retaliation: first my mother is one of those imigrants she came to this country to make a better life for me , if we had stayed in mexico i would not be in college i would have a sixth grade education and be working in a factory if i could work at all. Next most of those immigrants do the jobs no one else will because they see it as an opportunity to make money and support their family both in the states and in mexico. and another thing illegal immigrants cannot get unemployment or food stamps, the govt would see they were illegal and deport them. When was the last time you saw a mexican or hispanic or any latin american person begging on the street corner? they are too proud, they would die before they resorted to begging they take care of themselves and their own.
Now on to gay marriage
Ex 2 20ish college student-meaning you would think that he hadnt been living in a hole and at least knew a little about the constitution- "fags shouldnt be allowed to get married because it says so in the bible and god will send them to hell"
my retaliation: 1st SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE, it is understandable that some religions would not marry a gay couple because it is against what THEY believe in. but what gives the govt the right to say it is wrong! there is proof that homosexuality has existed for as long as written language and most likely before that- but it cannot be proven. So who is to say that it is wrong; there are white and black people, there are gay and straight people- science is on the verge of proving that some people are born gay, it cannot be helped so let them be themselves. Who has the right to say they are wrong. It doesnt hurt anyone exept the gay people that are desciminated against-ex: a gay couple, say two women, one gets pregnant through other means, that child sees both women as her parents, but there are documented cases where the birth mother dies and the child is put into grandparents or other custody because legally the other mother has no claim to the child. That is wrong.

IF IMMIGRANTS ARE SUCH A PROBLEM STOP HIRING THEM AND THERE ARE OTHER ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS NOT JUST MEXICANS SO STOP FOCUSING JUST ON US !!!
