Save South Central Farm !!!

14 years of work all gone in a matter of hours, all that time trying to help the poor, wasted. Owner, Ralph Horowitz, bought South Central Farm back in 2003 after a plan for a city garbage incinerator failed and now he is planning to abandon the poor to make a buck by selling it to some local realtors that want to turn it into fancy houses for the rich.
On June 12 around 5 am, police started to rush the farm with bolt cutters to take down the locked gates and also without first warning protestors giving them no time to react and some were forced to run and some were forced to chain themselves where they were standing or climb trees. The police have arrested 43 protesters including the protest organizer John Quigley. As you read this bulldozers are plowing over the crops that were grow there and all the love that it took to put such a farm together, this farm was the poor people of Los Angeles’ food source, they now have to fend for themselves in the scorching hot weather of Los Angeles’ summer. There was a family made up of 350 volunteers that went to work at SCF. I would have been there myself but I couldn’t afford the plane tickets and the permission from my Dad. The land also had plants that were used for medication that was given to the poor and they have been cut off from medical help too. If that doesn’t make your stomach churn in any humanly emotion, then you need to see a doctor.
You can help by donating to the farmers; if the land can’t be bought the farmers guarantee our money will be returned.
