The Stupidity of Others
by : Myke Muratore

Lately, it seems people are becoming more and more narrow minded. A couple of weeks ago in my high school English class, I was the minority. About 17 out of 20 or so students all were discussing how they hate Jews because "They are dirty, drive slow, and think they own everything." I was disgusted with the stereotype, and it seems that I found myself on the defensive as I was rapidly shot questions and insults about my veiws of equality. My teacher and I were stunned to say the least.

On the Day of Silence, a day where you don't talk to express the silence that homosexuals have to go through everyday, I couldn't walk into a class without being called a "Faggot" or a "Homo".

And most recently, yesterday, I held a walk out in my school. I was so surprised to see how many people sat there and repeated how immigrants are one of the country's biggest downfalls, how they are ripping America apart at the seams.

The point i'm trying to make is, it seems that people are becoming more and more closed minded. People were claiming that we do infact need a fence to block off the Mexican border to 'stop terrorism, like 911', but they seem to forget those terrorist crossed the Canadian border. People are either very uneducated these days, or they just do not know what is going on in this world.

Thank you for listening to my complaint.
